Orett Robinson — known professionally as Bobby Shakes — is a Boston-based editorial photographer, broadcaster, and media entrepreneur with thirty years inside reggae and dancehall culture.
He has photographed live music since 1996, building an archive of more than 10,000 shows and 500-plus artists across reggae, dancehall, hip-hop, sports, fashion, and real estate. He shoots Nikon and works under a personal editorial philosophy he calls One Drop — restraint, invisible polish, and luxury-first execution.
In 1998 he founded BobbyShakes.com, one of the earliest reggae websites on the internet, and has run it for more than twenty-five years. In 2025 he received the Boston Caribbean American Association Award for his contributions to Caribbean culture in Massachusetts.
